Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a session take? Session times vary depending on the size and complexity of your home. As a general guide, single-storey homes take approximately 30 minutes and double-storey homes around 60 minutes — though the average session at Big Plans is 60 minutes. Every home is different, so this is a guide only.
What if I don't have professional plans, or mine are hand-drawn? No professional plans? No problem. We regularly work with clients using their own hand-drawn plans. Just ensure they're drawn to scale and as accurate as possible. You're welcome to send them through for review before your session is confirmed.
Can I request additional revisions? Absolutely. Many clients book a follow-up review session to go through all their changes with our team and ensure everything is 100% resolved before moving on to the next stage.
Is there a maximum home size covered by this package? No limits — we work with homes of any size.
Can my builder or designer attend the session? Yes, and we actively encourage it. Some of our most productive sessions have involved the full team — client, builder, and designer — all working through the process together.
Who takes notes during the session? Clients are responsible for taking notes, photos, and video during the session so they can relay everything back to their designer. Our role is to build out the space, highlight areas to test and experience firsthand, and provide expert feedback throughout the session.
